We are the experts on native prairie grasses including buffalo grass lawns. While buffalo grass is slower growing and only needs monthly mowing, weed control is still important as with any grass. We recommend fertilizing twice per year and mowing at a taller 4 inch height to create a weed resistant covering. Winter is a great time to control broadleaf evergreen weeds such as clover when the buffalo grass is dormant.
